Both of these are of the same thing. It is a black wire mesh pencil holder against a white background. The only processing done was minor level and shadow/highlight tweaks.

Don't stare too long or you might not be able to look away:blah:

This one was not cut out, it is just the way it came out agains the white background.

That first shot reminds me of those stereogram pictures that were popular about 15 years ago. If you stare at this image for a few seconds and try to focus your eyes behind the image, suddenly the wire mesh pops out and the shadows appear behind. That is uncanny.

In the second shot, I like the Moire pattern between the mesh on the front and back.

Thank you Cal and Trojansoc.

The results of these pictures was total unplanned. We had no idea if these would even come out. The results blew us away with all the illusions that they produce.

This is another one of those challenges that make you think outside the box
