A shot from my Anthurium patch I took a while back. I haven't been able to get out much with my camera because of Hurricane Flossie and her rain.

I like how the colors of the flower really stand out in this image, but I'm not really sure it fits the challenge this week.

I hope Flossie leaves your area quickly and unscathed.

This is a beautiful shot. I don't see much backlighting except at the botom of the flower. I am going to accept it since there appears to be some backlighting.

I don't envy your encounter with Flossie. My wife keeps talking about moving to another part of the US to get away from all the rain we have in the Winter. We talk about it and then always come to the conclusion that, in terms of extreme weather, we live in a fairly nice place--Portland, Oregon.

Nice shot...rule of thirds well applied! I don't see any back light either.

thanks for the kind words. the flower was illumnated by the setting sun, as cal mentioned, it's more evident on the bottom part of the flower. if the weather is better today (or tomorrow), i'll try and get one better suited for the theme of this challenge.
