Taken today when a friend and I went out exploring. It was quite windy all day. This is Whaleback Light in Portsmouth harbor between Maine and New Hampshire.

Nice setting but I am wondering about the brightness of the water. Was it really that bright or did some post processing come into play here?

Cal

I was there. The water was that bright. Sorry. I posted a similar picture of the same light house before I checked what was already out there.

Thanks everyone.

Cal, the only thing done to this photo was a little cropping as it was taken with a camera without a viewfinder and it was so bright I couldn't tell what I was capturing. And, minor contrast adjustmentin colorcurves to brighten thesky a little. It really was that bright.

Here is the original. No PP except to resize to post. I was amazed the horizon was as straight as it was not being able to see anything.

nhMom,

Until yesterday I was actually in your side of the world. Machias, Maine to be exact. Drove from Boston to Machias to exoeience the Wild blueberry festival in Machias, Maine.

Lovely shot, the play of light on water is difficult to meter at times with agreat tendency to be blown. Overall, well done.

Aloha

Thanks, Selvin. This was taken with my friend's p&s as my dSLR is still in the shop. So, I didn't have much control that I knew of for metering.

You might have been in Boston when I was in the past few weeks. Been taking trips to/from the airport to pickup/drop off people. Hope you had a good time at the blueberry festival. I hope you drove up to Maine at least part of the way on Route 1 and not 95. It's a beautiful drive.
