There is a vista point on my way to work where I stop every now and then to take some pictures of the sunrise. This one I took with mypocket Kodak DX6440, a very good little camera.

Interesting backlighting effect.

This is the same effect you get film has been stored too long in a camera. Rememner those days?

Very nice effect. What kind of trees are those?

Considering the intensity of light reaching the lens straight from the front, the camera managed to collect a lot of detail. The color effect was caused by the warm sunlight. In fact, I've taken manypictures at this location with other cameras and the colors are very similar, so it was not camera artifact (and I did not PP it either, this is right out of the camera).

nhmom, I have no idea ofwhat type of tree this one is. The tree fell down many years ago but managed to survive. The trunk that sits on the ground has produced roots, which are now part of the tree root system. It is quite interesting, really.

The colors in this photo are amazing. It reminds me of a crayon box..red, yellow and green and some crayon colors in between. Nice!

Stunning but a bit oversharpened. I see some haloing on the downed tree trunk.

Thanks for your comments, Cal. The thing is, I did not do anything to this image at all. This is straight out of the camera. The DX6440 does not have in-camera sharpening either.
