The sun's rays are nice but the overall exposure of the image is relatively poor. Did you do any post processing to try to improve it? If so, it didn't work. If you play around with unsharp mask, setting the strength to a fairly high value (~150) you might be able to eliminate some of the haziness. You might do a web search on using USM to reduce haze in photos. You have to be careful, however, tweaking the wrong parameters too much can ruin the shot.
