Early morning on the Kyle of Durness, waiting for the ferry (the boat on the left) across the Kyle to the Cape Wrath peninsula. Then a minibus travels 11 miles of narrow, rough road through a lonely, wildbombing range to the even lonelier lighthouse at the Cape, NW tip of mainland Britain.

This is the unlikely rock of Ailsa Craig in the Firth of Clyde, perhaps familiar to golfing Americans as the backdrop to the world-class golf courses of the Ayrshire coast in SW Scotland.

Alan,

The second shot is so mystical. Wonderful work. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks, Selvin. What has bemused me on this holiday is the remarkable cloudscapes presented to me every sunny day.

Awhile back, I learnt to clone bits of sky to fill in bendy edges in autostitched panoramas. I got embarrassed when I found I was accidentally cloning already cloned pieces of sky. Since then, just by looking at the sky in awe, I have realised that my embarrassment was misplaced; Nature is completely uninhibited about obvious cloning which would be thrown out immediately in this forum, especially of clouds, while cleverly and artistically copying the hills & dales beneath.
