A couple of shots of Air Force One as it landed in Nashville a while back. The lighting conditions were very harsh, but sometimes you have to take the shot anyway!!!

The arrival and departure of AF One closed all airtraffic as well as a couple of nearby roads for a bit.

Enjoy

Great shots. How were you able to get so close?

I agree with Cal, superb shots of Air Force-1.

Thanks Cal and Selvin for the comments

I work on the ramp at the airport and the local airport authority have given me permission to have my camera out there.

Similar situation to a couple of experiences my son had while in the Navy, Mugmar. His helicopter squadron was providing logistical support to the G8 conference in Geneva in 2003. He was out on the tarmac, both when AF One came in and went out, and was able to get this shot when it departed.

He had an even better opportunity later in Incilrik, Turkey, when they set down Marine One between the two helicopters for which he was acting as plane captain/ground controller. Unfortunately, he didn't have a camera either then or when the President came up to him and started shooting the bull with him when he had a couple of minutes to kill before the formal greeting began. (We're strong Democrats and no fans of George Bush, but the President is still the President, and my son was mightily impressed.)

I hope you don't mind my posting this shot in your thread, Mugmar. It just seemed to be a logical place for it.

Beautiful shots. I love that the plane and the background are both in focus.

Nice shots.

I'm always a little afraid about bringing a camera with a long lens close to the airport!
