As I drove aboard the large ferry from the Isle of Bute to the Cowal peninisula, which takes about 3 minutes to cross the Kyles of Bute, I was faced with this sign in the rear window of the vehicle inches in front...

...and the driver of one of the three large tourist buses squeezed on the boat obviously felt we were. There was also a 44-ton superstore supplytruck, and many other vehicles, all debouching on to many miles of single track road.

Very unusual view of the hazards of ferry crossing with cars.

I've ridden on car ferries a number of times and they really try to pack them in. The prefer that you leave your car during the trip and spend your time up on the passenger deck. Getting in and out of your car can be a challenge.
