Tullio, and NhMOm,

While in Boston I has the opportunity to photograph old ironsides. NHMom, like you I had mixed feelings about spending money to go on-board. So these shots were taken outside from the peanut gallery.

Like most photographers when faced withtough decisions we do the best we can. I had no wide angle lens, I did not go on-board and I had an Olympus-730 (3.5 Mega pixel, 10X) Like most docks, the area around ironsides was cluttered and a office area was set aside for the armed forces protecting it.

The second shot attempts to give you a picture of what the sailors had to deal with back then.

The third shot doesn't deal with the transportation aspects of old ironsides but completes the picture. Hope viewers will forgive the temporary non-compliance of the rules.

I like the second shot. To shoot historic things in modern settings you have to think outside the box and this is an excellent example of thinking outside the box.

Outstanding shots, Selvin. I saw the first this morning, apparently before you added the second and third.

On two separate occasions in the past, I have attempted building a very detailed plastic model of this ship. In both cases, I gave up when the model was about 2/3 completed. The rigging is very detailed and intricate. It requires a great deal of patience which I didn't have. It is not easy tying those tiny knots!
