This is an old shell lift in the WW II bunker inside the old fort.

Nicely done. I have seen something like that and other related equipment at Ft. Stephens at the mouth of the Columbia River in Oregon.

Fofa,

You and Walter end up in the most unusual places. I think this one easily makes it into the 'dilapidation' camp.

The last moviein whichI saw a shell lifter was 'The Guns of Navaronne." I don't get out to movies too frequently. David Niven played a nifty explosive expert fiddling around with rigging the elevator and lifter to fool the Germans.
