I just uploaded this photo today! Perfect timing. The wife, kids and I drove out about an hour to Matthiessen State Park in north central Illinios to see the changing of the leaves. It was our first trip to this park, but certainly not our last. Canyons, caves and waterfalls are everywhere!

(please let me know if these are too big so I can adjust next time)

Here's a shot from last week that fits both today's topic as well as the previous Graceful Dilapidation!

An abandoned crib barn on the outskirts of suburban Chicago getting ready to weather yet another of Mother Nature's severe storms. Had to pull over on my way home from work to capture this before it disappeared. The full rainbow this storm created was absolutely perfect, but that's another challenge!

Great job. The first shot would look great on the cover of "Outdoor Photography". The second on the cover of "The Farm Journal" (is that still published?).

Just lovely! So, were you standing in the creek for the first one. I love that one.

I didn't have to stand in the creek for the first shot, there was a bend in the creek right where I was standing, so I took advantage of it. It was quite an interesting hike down into the canyon, this area of the canyon isonly about 15 or 20 feet deep, some parts are up to around 60 feet I believe:-)

The second shot looks like what you typically see on jigsaw puzzles. Well crafted landscape.

Well done!
