Taken last March when I went to California for my dad's 75th birthday. Was striking to me as I had just left dreary, cold New Hampshire. A drastic seasonal color change for different parts of the country.

Isn't the proper term "vinyard?" or arbor? Anyhow, we can use that shot to remind us that Autumn and Winter are only temporary and that is what awaits us in the Spring. At the rate the national weather patterns are changing, who knows how long we will have seasons or what the seasons will be like in as little as five years. Something to think about.

Thanks, Cal and Bob.

Yep, you're right about the vineyards. Sorry for the incorrect terminology.

Bob, yes my dad did have a wonderful birthday. I totally surprised him by showing up. He knew about the party, but not that I was coming. No one but one sisterand one brother knew. We had him go to the airport "to pick upmy sister's friend's dad". He thought it was strange he was the one going, but my sister begged him since she had "gotten stuck at work". She was there of course, to photograph the look on his face when he saw me coming down the walkway. It was a real treat for me to see my dad smile like that.

He was very happy as all eight of his children were there for him. Six are in California, but a brother in OR and me in NH makes it difficult for us all to get together some times.
