Here are a couple more of the shots from yesterdays outing to the park. It was nice just picking up leaves and tossing them into the creek to float by. BTW, it is much harder than one might realize to toss fallen leaves so that they land color side up. I never did find the secret.

Smac,

Yes,I too have tossed leaves and yes, it is much harder than it looks. The leaves live by the same rule the a slice of buttered bread lives by. When falling the buttered side always falls face down. The leaves always fall with the wrong face down too.

Love the first shot since the water in the background gives it additional oomph.

Great job. The first is wonderful with the new leaf on top of the water and older leaves under the water. Great focus.

I love how the water isolates the leaf from the surroundings, and just creeps over the edges a bit.

I like these much more that your first submissions. I was wondering how you just happened to find some great leaves floating on the water. Now we know...you cheated? That's something we photogs have to do from time to time to get great shots. Well done.

Cheating, ouch. Au contrare. I was replicating nature, albeit badly. All the shots with leaves upside down were my attempts to replicate nature. All the leaves color side up were naturally floating down stream. You can't fool Mother Nature, I tried.

Thanks for the comments, they are always appreciated.

Thanks tcook, I did too. I was discovering that reflection can hold deeper and richer color than the actual object. I enjoyed experimenting with the colors and reflections in this outing. I am glad you enjoyed viewing the results.

Thanks,
Steve
