Took a ride out to LaPorte, Indiana on Sunday to see the fall colors. The newly-roofed, historic Door Prairie barn was surrounded by fall colors - both dull and muted as well as vibrant. It's one of the only (if not the only) nine sided horse barns left - and it's well cared for by a private owner. He even paved a 4 car parking area at the front of his driveway for viewing.

A lovely shot. Reminds me of my college days in northern Kentucky.

Very good. I would love to see that in person. For now, I have to be satisfied with your photo.

It's become a landmark as you enter LaPorte, IN. Here's a shot of some workers installing the new cedar shake roof. It gives you an idea of how large the barn really is.

At my age its always a thrill to see something new for the first time. Never seen an 8 sided barn before. Thanks lapstrake for showing it to me through a very nice photo.

Thanks for looking everyone.

BYNX...then you'll be even more pleased to know that this is a 9 sided barn! That's got to be even more unusual.

Beautiful shot, you reallycan't tell how big it is until you see your second shot with the roofers on it.
