My wife, in contemplative mood last Sunday afternoon. Note that her halo gleams. She gained it by putting up with me for more than 27 years.

...or maybe she's wondering how we came, apparently, to grow pears and apples on the same tree.

Again, the colours are subtle, but they're wonderfully seasonal. We've eaten nearly all this year's pears, but we'll be eating the cooking apples for a whole year until the next lot. The freezer is full of them as well, ready for motherhood and apple pie every week or so.

Alan, I have a 28 page ebook called How to Dry Fruits and Vegetables. I would be glad to email it to you.

Another pair of fine photos from our representative from the UK! Those pears look good enough to eat! By the way, Bynx, Apple Pie is an American institution, as far as I know!

Cal, Belview State Hospital in New York City is an institution....we are talking about too many apples here. Done right dried fruit makes a nice carry along when out in the wilds shooting things (with a camera).
