Finally this weekend my wife & I had a chance to go up into the Ouachita National Forest north of Hot Springs to see a few fall colors. These two shots were taken while standing on a narrow steel bridge over Bear Creek. The first is looking to the west.


(BTW....for thosenot from the South....Ouachita is pronounced WASH-ih-taw.)

When you look downstream, where the creek bed is wider, you can see the effect of last summer's drought.

Nice shots, look how thereflection in the water shows off the sky and clouds.

I lived in Georgia for five years. I can't even imagine how dried up things are down there. It was always so green.

That looks a lot like southeast Idaho. Beautiful country.
