It makes me think of a computer generated desert with the gridlines and a rising sweltering hot sun rising. Nice in that its not just fabric but much more.

Ditto to all that has been said. I guess I am more than a moderator here. I seem to be the "safety monitor" also! Although these are beautiful shots, I worry about the possibility of fire with the candle that close to the scarf.

Cal
Cal, Thank you so muchI appreciate your commentsand thank you for being a "safety monitor."

The scarf was closely monitored at all times during the making of the photograph. (The candle was in a tall jar).

The second image is stunning. the folds of the fabric and candle light add some great dimension to the photo.
vsch1, Thank you so very much, I appreciate your comments.

Yes, this would be a superb entry as a landscape, either terrestrial or further away.

The texture showing through as a result of the candle is very cool.

If this lovely shot really was of a distant planet, obviously NASA's pixels would be showing a little here. Speaking of other world photography...

Any of you that saw the controversy over whether China's moon probe pictures were real or not may be amused by this clip from my upmarket liberal daily newspaper (famous historically for its misprints, and nowadays for its howlers)on Tuesday.....

"The photographs we used to illustrate an article about the uncanny similarity between images of the moon sent back by a Chinese lunar probe and those taken by Nasa two years ago were actually identical. We mistakenly ran the Nasa picture twice (At last - a moon picture that really is fake? page 3, G2, December 5.)"

We've all posted the wrong image at least once, haven't we, be honest!? At least my newspaper owns up daily to its mistakes.
