I was determined to get some good "feather" shots this morning, but drizzly, foggy weather sort of got in the way. Despite that, these little American Goldfinches did their part.

How do you get great color when shooting a greyish bird into a greay sky on a grey morning? I didn't......but this blue jay did give me a good spread of his feathers upon take-off.

I went back outside a little while ago, and was visited by a fellow who just couldn't stand grey being featured for feather color. After all, it is Christmas week, so I dumped the grey blue jay in favor of this happy gent.

Awesome birds! The image of preference for me is the first one.
