Ooh! That gingerbread looks yummy. Great shots and if I have not already done so, I would like to welcome you to the forum. We have a lot of fun here and once in awhile we learn some things!

I really like your avatar. Can you tell us what it is or how you made it. Also, when you have a chance, would you please enter your location in you profile. Just click on "My Account" at the top of the page and then click on "Profile". Thanks.

Cal

Hi Cal,

The Avatar is something I made using Ulead PhotoImpact 10. The original image is something I found on the internet using the search term "Vortex" The Picture Below will explain the process.

I've updated my info. It should all be correct now.

Wow! You should post that over in the Digital Art forum. I think they would enjoy seeing the final result and the steps to create it.

Normally, these photos would not be allowed in this forum since we don't allow any but the most basic darkroom-like post processing here. Anything that renders an artistic effect to a photo is not allowed (see forum guidelines). However, since I asked the question on how you did it, it's OK. Also, you didn't post it for the challenge but as an explanation on how you created the avatar. Great job.

Thanks for sharing your technique.

Cal

(Edit) I thought that starting image looked familiar. It is a desktop wallpaper included with Windows XP and possibly earlier versions of Windows. It is called "Vortec Space". FYI! I am going to try to duplicate your technique with the tools in Paint Shop Pro X.
