Selvin, I hold you responsible for the reprehensible 22-degrees to which I woke this morning. It's NEVER this cold here, and tonight's supposed to be 15. But, it did freeze the mud puddles in my driveway. The result of the very shallow ice was something that could easily be read as some form of primitive pictographic language.

Trojansoc,

I am sitting here on the Big Island of Hawaii freezing my booty off, mid-60's-- it's all relative.

Now to your situation, those ice pictographs are great, they are very similar to our petroglyphs. Although the petroglyphs tend are more lifelike of course rather than random patterns.

Great eye.

It's 40 degrees and raining in Portland this morning. I love these shots. Mother nature can really come up with some interesting and unusual art forms in ice. Great shots.

From selvin's and mugmar's replies, I know which of my two son's that live away I would like to visit. One is freezing in Antioch, TN (works at Bridgestone/Firestone, Mugmar) and the other is grinning all the way to the beach on the North shore of Oahu.

The worst part is that I have to wait till it's hot here to enjoy the sun of Hawaii....all because of a little thing called a paycheck that the school gives me.....

You know, Paul, I don't think Selvin has ever seen or touched real ice! What do you think. I had better be careful or Selvin won't let me visit him again.:lol::lol:

If that's the case, then I'd better start being nice to him now since I've already got the tickets bought for this summer.

Cal, Trojansoc,

I wish I'd never seen natural ice but alas, five years in Chicago cured me of any affection I had for the real stufff.
