This is definitely one of the most irrelevant time displays imaginable as the winning thoroughbred dashes to victory this afternoon in the first race at Oaklawn Park.

Digital alterations are not permitted in this thread. So the wires holding the horse and rider up should show in the photo. :blah:

Believe it or not, I was having so much fun taking pictures, and I didn't want to give up my spot at the rail by the finish line, that I never even made it to the betting windows.

That's what you call a photo finish. Great shot.

I hope everyone realises that Trojansoc has produced here an excellent tribute to Edward Muybridge, the originator of technical, scientific, forensic photography. See http://stephenherbert.co.uk/royal82.htm...

For example...

"Mr. Muybridge wisely left his wonderful pictures to speak for him, instead of making the occasion the subject of a long oration. He showed his photographs one after another on the screen by the aid of an electric lantern, and modestly explained them in clear but plain language. In this way the demonstration was at once rendered entertaining as well as interesting." (1882)

Mr Muybridge was from California. If California tries hard, it can rescue the world! Please get on and do it! I have children, and before long, I hope, grandchildren, and lots of action is required now for their futures.
