Ok, to my knowledge this is one of the oldest existing methods of tracking time. Planting times and harvesting times to mention a few. This is 5 days into the new lunar cycle which, of course means that it's time to pay the rent.
If you don't agree you may now begin the roast.

Before I opened your photo I took off all my clothes and sat with nervous apprehension wondering what lay behind your post. Oh well, Im getting dressed and having a coffee. But before that I will show you my moon. :blah:

Cool idea, Steve. As I looked at the list of postings made since I was here over a week ago, I was wondering if anyone would have thought of this one.

Thanks Patty, I was also considering a shot of the sun, but I decided that nothings says time like the moon.
Cheers,
Steve

Smac,

Celestial time is always there. We may not be able to see it but it's very reliable.

What "bare"? I don't see any "bare"! Nice moon shot. Save that and any others you've got. As soon as the weather improves, we will be "shooting the moon" with a moon challenge.

Great shot and great idea!

What camera/lens did you use? I can't even get close to that with my 300mm.

Thanks, I took some of my first pics with my new Nikon D300 of the moon. I had my Tamron 200-500mm Tele mounted on the D300 and I believe I shot this shot is at ISO 400, f/8, 1/250th This is probably about a 50% crop.
