"...take candy from a stranger" (She seems to be thinking). Actually, she's a neighbor's daughter.

Walter this is precious. Her facial expression rminds me so much of my granddaughter. Lovely job.

In fact here'a a shot of my granddaughter with not as much pout but with some striking similarities. If I need to remove this shot pls let me know perfectly understood. Aloha

No objection here, Selvin. What a lovely granddaughter. The two could pass for sisters.

Nice portrait, Walter. What a serious look for such a young one.

Selvin, your granddaughter is lovely. And, yes, they certainly could pass for sisters.

Awww! Cuteness! Both shots are very nice, thanks for sharing.

@Walter
I noticed something strange in your shots... everytime the hair stands out with contrast, lots of sharpness and stuff - are these pictures postprocessed in some way? I think it's overdone a bit.

@Selvin
Great halo effect and wonderful pose, I am somewhat sad about that foggy feeling, I think it was caused by the strong backlight. Did you consider some postprocessing to remove it? I think it would really help:

Th.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Overdone? Please explain.

@Walter

I combined the cutie here and the bulldog lady:

Both have dark hair and in both cases it is very accentuated, almost exaggerated - as if it was oversharpened in some way. (Thats why I asked about postprocessing, it's just a lot of "white reflexes" there)

In Selvins picture (to stay in the same topic) you don't see this. Now maybe it's just that kind of hair and the strong sunlight that produce that effect, I don't know - if so, sorry, only you were there and can say exactly.

I was expecting something more like this (same amount of detail but much "finer" hair with finer reflexes):

Really no offense meant, just an observation and I thought I'd let you know.

Regards,
Th.

I love both shots. If I didn't know differently, I would think both shots were of the same girl or at least twins. The resemblance is uncanny!

Regarding the sharpness of the hair as mentioned by THKN, I don't see anything unusual. Personally, I would expect that kind of detail from the camera without post processing. If you are not getting that kind of sharpness from the camera, check your settings. Make sure you are getting the largest image the camera will produce and if not shooting raw, make sure you are using "jpeg fine" to store the photos. Anything less on either of these settings will significantly reduce the sharpness of the photo.
