Another abstract looking down a glass of cooking oil with some redish orange printer ink lying on the bottom. Illuminated through the bottom with a small flashlight.

Thanks for your comments. This is a good example of trying something that doesnt work then seeing something else that does. I tried shooting the drops of ink as they made balls in the oil. But they soon dropped to the bottom forming a puddle under the oil. Not wanting to waste the oil I started to play with the light and looking around for some other aspect of color and shape. So this pic is a result of trying something else. A camera, some light and some colorful material can always produce some kind of picture. Here is another shot. Is it too abstract?

Bynx,

Combined your other forum entry I really think you have the germ of enough ideas to fill a gallery.

Aloha and good shooting.

Thanks Selvin. While Ive done photography for many years, it was using 35mm which was nothing like digital. Treating each click of the shutter as something precious and for special occasions 35mm didnt allow the freedom to just click away as digital does. Ive only been shooting since mid June after my 35mm bit the dust a year or so earlier. In that time Ive shot over 10,000 shots. Thats about 3x more than I have in my whole life. Im glad I lived long enough to get to use Digital.

Sharing ideas is what this place is all about. Glad you are getting something out of this. I know I am.
