Here's a 40 foot tall waterfall in the great state of Illinois -- yes, Illinois! It's at Matthiessen State Park near Utica, about 90 miles west of Chicago. The falls are wonderful when frozen too.

And the second shot is a detail of the South Haven, Michigan Lighthouse covered in ice. I love the fluidity of the frozen water. You can tell exactly which way the wind was blowing when the heavy surf of Lake Michigan pounded the lighthouse and froze it solid.
I was standing at the icy base of the lighthouse looking 50 feet to the top, so those icicles are several feet long. Amazingly, the ice is at least 4 feet thick at the left of the photo and much thicker at the bottom.

If you're interested, there are more shots of this lighthouse covered in ice on my flickr page: Click Here

You've done a great job with the fuzzy water in the falls. Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge looks a lot like that during the colder part of winter. It is really spectacular with the ice buildup on the canyon wall.

Before I read your narration on the second shot, I thought it was a funnel on a ship. Since the top of the light house is hidden by the ice, it bears a close resemblance.
