The first is a shot I was struck by the clouds in my backyard at sunset a few days ago. Just a little sharpening...no crops or other processing.

The other goes from deep in the archives, taken of clouds as we neared land over the Gulf of Mexico on a trip to Florida. Taken back in 2004 with my Olympus C-750.

Hi Paul,

I think you've shown in 2 photos some very different aspects of clouds. I love how the sun is peeking out from behind the cloud... and the sunbeams below.

2nd show is so clear, I've rarely seen such good and CLEAR photos of cloud formations from a plane like that before.

Regards

(another) Paul

I agree that both shots are excellent but I, also, like the second shot the best.

I used to be a pilot flying light planes. I have seen snowstorms from above and from the side. I've flown through torrential rain where the only visibility was straight down. However, I wouldn't even consider taking a light plane into the vicinity of the clouds in that second shot.

Cal

Gee Cal. I would think the higher you go the longer you will live, if anything goes wrong. When death is imminent, every second counts.
