OK - I wasn't succesful with a true "needle-shot", so in the meantime something else.

Which aperture do you like better? The dark one or the other?

I think in either shot, I would move the handle of the scissors farther away from the flower so as to show the entire blossom.

Hm, I can try that - although the flower almost withered... but it wasn't really the flower I tried to capture through the scissor handle, it was the stamen! I was experimenting with different f-stops in my garden to see what I'd need to capture different stamens - then I noticed the little tulip my daughter had put in the small vase and tried with a needle for the challenge... again - I wanted to capture a single stamen through the needle which I thought was a good idea but somehow the lighting didn't work and I messed things up. Being in a playful mood I used other things and took photos and thought the scissor made a good result for the whole stamen - I especially like the "inside" feeling these shots give and the colors. It looks a bit like a snow globe, as if there was a distortion caused by the scissor handle, doesn't it?
