I used a Nikon D300. I love shooting the moon.

Thank you so much. When the sky is clear, I am out shooting the moon at all hours. It is an addiction.

Nice job, Caryl. My longest lens only goes to 300mm but I have a 2x extender. I know there is a loss of at least one f-stop, perhaps two, but I think I'll hook the two together and see what a poor man's 600mm lash up can do. It has been clear today and if it remains clear tonight, I'll give it a try.

I use a 200mm with a 2X teleconverter to get to 400mm so your system should work just fine. It is best at 1/500 or 1/400 of a second for my setup. Good luck and have fun. We are in fog this week so I cannot play.

Well, my plans to shoot the moon last night at 2x300mm got shot down. After a clear day, a cloud bank rolled in about 8 pm! I'll try to do it later this week.

My condolences, Cal. I was soooo... lucky last night. I hadn't expected to manage anything at all for this 'challenge'. Keep your eye on the weather forecasts!
