Here are a couple of neon signs in south Portland, Oregon.

The first is the Channel 12 television studio.

The second is at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.

It takes a lot of electricity to run these signs!

Cal,

Exposures are right on target.

What does OMSI stand for? Just curious.

Selvin, please clean your glasses and look at my original post again. Pay particular attention to the comment just above the OMSI photo. I think you might find the answer.

I think it is interesting to note that OMSI moved to its present location about ten years ago. The current site was originally a power plant. The main power plant building was restored and the turbine generator is still sitting in its original location. The overhead crane is still there and operational. The basement is not accessible and I don't know if the boiler(s) and other equipment is still there or not. The rest of the building is now used for hands-on exhibits which children (and us big kids, too!) can try things and see how things work.

Three beautiful modern glass enclosed buildings have been added to the original power plant structure. There is an IMAX theater, a planetarium, a large exhibit hall for traveling exhibits, and a gift shot. There is a WWII submarine, the SS Blueback which has been restored and is open for tours. The original smokestack from the power plant is still there.

Selvin, don't feel too bad, I missed it too. I was just going to ask when I read Cal's re-direct. Oops.

Nice job Cal.

Nice shots, Cal.

I tried getting some down at the beach tonight, but it wasn't dark enough yet.
