Well after the tornadoes that passed through here about a month ago, crews have been hard at work restoring the power lines in this part of the country. I was out and about hoping just to get shot or two of the new poles/lines when I saw this...

There were using the helicopter to take men and supplies up to the tops of the towers! That must be an exciting job!

Then as I was driving along I came to an intersection where they were landing the helicopter, refueling and getting more supplies attached to the cable. I believe the challenge post said to embrace the lines, so here goes....

Nice. Is the first one shot from ground level?

Last summer we kept hearing helicopters that sounded like they were hovering in our driveway but when I'd go out they'd be gone. Finally caught themcoming instead of going. They were going up and down the power lines by my house and checking the lines just like your guys are doing.

Yup. Ground level for both of them. I was probably at least 1/4 of a mile away for the first, looking out over a corn field. Those poles are probably at least 60-75 feet tall at the tops.

Nor me Cal, unless it was flying the helicopter. I've always wanted to learn to do that.
