Lovely spot for a quiet, reflective stroll...especially inviting after my wife and I just got back from a bike ride along the beach here. Very crowded. More than 1 million people expected to take in the beach, the 4th of July parade (biggest in So. Calif) and the fireworks off the end of the pier this evening. Anything but quiet and peaceful.

The serenity of the woods and the quiet of the cemetary make for a beautiful scene. Good work.

Thanks, Walter and Cal. Little do you know, there is a downed branch behind the tree on the left and just at the end of the path are about half a dozen public works guys cleaning up after a bad storm the night before. Looks can be deceiving!:-)

Yep, fireworks at our beach last night, too. And, I think the normal Saturday summer ones tonight. We'll maybe go by tonight to see them. Weren't going any where near it last night. Tried that two years ago and got stuck in traffic for two hours. Never did get to see them because of where we were.

Beautiful scene, and I prefer the illusion of serenity the photo conveys. I would like to go shoot the fireworks here tonight (if they're held--rain this afternoon)....but they're held over a lake at a point of daily traffic congestion. Tonight will be a madhouse.

Thanks, Paul.

We made it to the beach last night about 8:30, but it didn't seem like they were doing any fireworks last night. I tried to get some shots of the "paths" of the crowds on the boardwalk. But, from the back seat it was a little difficult.

Patty,

The harmony and serenity really entices to viewer to accept the invitation, "Let us go then you and I..."

Aloha and thanks for sharing.
