Hi Steve, this looks like a great place to take a long walk! Looks like that lighthouse presents many more photo ops as well. Nice work!!!

Both photos are excellent. The second photo is an excellent example of using a very large depth of field so that a near subject (rusty post) and a distant subject (lighthouse) are both in focus and both carry equal weight in the photo. At some time in the future, I would like to devote an entire challenge to this concept.

Both shot are equally good.. But as Calr said.. you have maintained a very good DOF in 2nd shot.. and that is a the one I say , is an excellent shot

It doesn't matter how many photo sof the Point Cabrillo lighthouse I see I am just enraptured by them. Great shot as others have noted the DOF was nicely executed.

My only nit-pick about the first shot is that path way is so short that it doesn't quite have the zing of others.
