In northern Arizona, near Flagstaff, there is a fascinating area once inhabited by Indians. They lived in cave-like indentations in the side of steep cliffs. Accessed only be narrow, winding paths. This was shot from another hill about 300 yards away. Note the people in the lower third of the picture.

Good example of the cliff dwellings. Mesa Verde is also a great place to see them.

It surely takes pathways to get to those cliff shelters. That had to be a hard life.
