Hi all

Not trying to give this one away too much by the subject description line...

I was out at a reserve area this afternoon.... and thinking about the near / far challenge, decided to take this photo... as I believe it should quality.

With a 10-20mm Sigma lens on my 350D Canon camera, at 10mm - this photo is WIDE. I was basically lying on the ground under that little sapling (thus the "near').

The very tall "high volt power pole" in the background is a long way off... (thus the "far").

I think it also shows the contrast between nature (up close) and a man made structure (large, but in the distance).

Maybe so, Alan, but if you could see what's under that tree, you might think differently.

It amazes me how a wide angle lens compresses the distances and exagerates the foreground. Great shot.
