good shot Cal... nice dof control and interesting composition.

It's almost like it is contemplating "should I jump or not"? while we shout to it :"No.. don't jump... we all love you and will share our nuts with you"!

Thanks PJ and yesterday for your kind comments. That wall is about three feet high and those critters have no problem climbing straight up the side. Also they are not very shy. They tend to scamper away from rousty kids and dogs but otherwise, if you stand still, they will come right up to you. One that I was trying to shoot came so close, I couldn't focus on him!

We spent two full days at Crater Lake, returning to our campsite about 35 miles away at night. I got a lot of great photos which I will post in a Photobucket album later this week. The only problem we had was smoke from California wildfires. Thursday was fairly clear but Friday the smoke was bad enough that you could barely see from one side of the crater to the other.
