I think this will be a great challenge! Other than photography I have always loved trains, here is a earlymorning freight heading east down the road from our house.

Bob,

Pictures like these always evoke the words of the song, "City of New Orleans" by Steve Goodman.

Riding on the City of New Orleans,
Illinois Central Monday morning rail
Fifteen cars and fifteen restless riders,
Three conductors and twenty-five sacks of mail.
All along the southbound odyssey
The train pulls out at Kankakee
Rolls along past houses, farms and fields.
Passin' trains that have no names,
Freight yards full of old black men
And the graveyards of the rusted automobiles

Beautiful renditions by Guthrie and Judy Collins. Beautiful photographic rendiiton by Bob Hammit.

Aloha

Very Bob.

I like the way you can see the exhaust vapor rising from the engine!
