Hi all!

I have not been too well this week... there is a nasty cold going around the office (in fact, around town!)... and I've had it most of this week. So I haven't been up to much today (apart from clearing out my gutters which I will now emphatically say is NOT one of "my favourite things" to do!) :G

However last weekend, I went for a walk while the sun was out in the afternoon (we've had a wet winter here in Adelaide, which is good for water reserves.)

I took these photos specifically thinking of this challenge and you all.

After God, family and friends, I guess nature must one of my most favourite things.

Photo 1. A tree on a path at Anstey Hill Recreation Park, which is a large nature reserve about 10 minutes from my home. Taken at 10mm with the Sigma 10-20mm on my trusty Canon 350D. Gotta love the wide angle perspective!

And photo 2.

This is a close up of a simple head of grass / weed thing. (ok perhaps... some of you botanists out there can tell me it's name if you like!) I love the clarity / sharpness and colours of this simple composition... what about you?

What I love about nature is the beauty in both the tiny minute details (as in this photo below) as well as the grand sweeping views of the photo above. I enjoy the outdoors, and often go bushwalking. I'm thankful I've seen many countries and amazing parts of creation near and far.

Hope you enjoy both photos. This second photo was taken with my 28-135mm lens at full 117mm wide open (f5.6), again on my Canon 350D.

Thanks for viewing. Wishing you all a blessed weekend.

Paul

Paul,
I just love photo number one. What a perfect day for an afternoon walk in nature. It reminds me of the Shire and I would half expect to see several Hobbit Holes around the bend. Thanks for the beautiful image.

I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Greetings Steve

Well thought of... I never had imagined it looked like the Shire... but now that you mention it, there were some furry toed creatures running around... I just thought they were a species of marsupial that I didn't know about (yet)... :-)

I could never get close enough to make a photo of them... because they were running away ... sounded like they were repeating the word "Nazgul"??

Thanks for the best wishes... I also hope my health will pick up soon. Just 1 cold for this winter doesn't seem too bad...
