On April 8, 2008 Bill Guenthner posted a suggestion for a challenge. His idea, "How about photographs that are representative of a single color. Any color or subject would be allowed but the image must immediately be identifiable as to what color it represents"

By itself this is fairly interesting and should keep us occupied. However I am offering a second optional part to this challenge. Take your submission or a variation of it and create another artistic dimension to your photo.

This option will allow you to use several graphic editing tools or your imagination and compositional skills.

Thus, 1) submit a photo that represents a single dominant color, and optionally 2) create an piece that goes beyond the submission and gives us another perspective on your submission using art.

Examples are shown below. Good hunting.

The color red is my challenge submission:

Lookat my second submission. This is the flag of Italy in flowers. With time and patience and some moreediting this could be a superbly crafted submission of the Italian flag.

and finally green mint forming the word green.

Let me congratulate you Selvin. This is an excellent challenge and one for EVERYBODY. Your examples are top notch and I see a problem trying to better them. But Im sure we will try.
Efforts to follow.
