There have been many instructions for do it yourself filters floating around the internet for many years. Many use easy to find materials and take minimal time to complete. I'd like to see what you come up with using what you find on the web and what you come up with on your own.

Please share specific instructions so others may try it, also.

Here are a few ideas.

Soft focus...womens stocking pulled over lens, breath on the lens, blow out a burning candle and hold a UV filter over the smoke, a piece of window screen.

[bColor[/b] ....colored cellophane stretched over lens.

This sounds like an interesting challenge. It has technique involved so lets see how many different members contribute to it.
I remember having a set of colored filters many years ago. They clipped on over the flash. Using a complimentary filter over the lens produced some interesting results. Ah that I had that package today. But the principle should still work with your homemade filters.
