Since the complementary challenge wasn't posted till this morning, I guess this counts as my archive post on holiday lights since I shot them earlier this month. If the weather holds, tonight I'll try to go back and shoot some more.

The holiday lights show at the botanical garden is one of the highlights of the holiday season in Hot Springs with unique displays such as the flowers below

Pentax K20d, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 @ f/5.0 and 70mm. 1/100sec with - 0.7 EV.

The night I was there, a local university orchestra had a holiday tuba concert. I like the effect of the holiday lighting reflected off the bell.

Same lens at f/2.8 and 200mm. ISO was 1000 and shutter 1/13 sec.

More to come tonight if the rain holds off.

Both shot are good but I really like the second one, great composition in capturing the lights reflecting in the Tuba.

Both shots are outstanding. The first is simple and colorful. The composition is excellent. The second shot is one in a million. You probably couldn't repeat that composition if you tried. The reflection is great.

Wow! +1 to Calr's comments. #2 is a once in a lifetime shot.

Both are very cool, Paul. The second one is so unique.

Now that we have our power back, guess I'll have to get busy and post some photos I took while out. I had ventured out to capture the Christmas lights.
