My cat Missy was doing her best to help when my husband was preparing the Christmas tree

And here is the completed effort. Missy is still helping by removing (what she considers) superfluous ornaments!

I love the first shot. I sure hope Missy didn't try to bite into the wires!

In the second shot, the tree look tilted. I'm inclined to think it is actually the tree and not the camera that is tilted since the paneling on the wall looks straight.

I have to agree with Cal, the first shot is actually quite mysterious.

I like the glow of the lights in the cats eyes in the first shot. Maybe the tree is leaning to the side because the cat is trying to take off one of the top ornaments!!!!

I hate to admit but the tree IS actually a little tilted. we didn't notice it until it was fully "adorned" and I sure wasn't going to take everything off then. We just like to think that it has had a little too much of the holiday spirits.

We have a cat who "helps" with all sorts of decorating, too, including the Christmas tree. (She has also learned to flip on the bathroom light, reliably selecting the light switch over the switch for the exhaust fan, and then jump up on the window sill and play with the bugs that are attracted to the outside of the window - a year-round source of entertainment for a clever Florida cat who is bored at 5 AM.)

Anyway, with her inspiration, my daughter sent us a Christmas card with an ornery looking cat on the front and a caption, sung to the tune of "O Tannenbaum":

Oh, Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree,
Your ornaments are history!

Its because of cats like that they make oversize microwaves.
I hear they taste like chicken.
