The kids humored me and let me do something abit different with the tree this year. It is decorated with different crystals, clear and silver ornaments and many other decorations which will reflect the light. This image was totally by accident. I had a star light filter, but forgot to turn off the flash, so the filter caught not only the lights but the reflection of the flash off the ornaments. I am disappointed that I captured the lighting plug and wiring.

If you hadn't mentioned the wires and plug, I would not have noticed them. The eyes are drawn immediately to the starbursts produced by the filter. Excellent job.

I agree with Cal. I wouldnt have noticed the wires and plug until you mentioned it. I hav a starburst filter but it only produces 4 lines whereas your 8 lines is much more attractive.

I agree with Bynx, the 8-point stars really make this shot sparkle.

Thanks for sharing.

Really nice effect with the 8 point filter The wire is not a distraction in this shot.It blends in nicely with the tree. You could try to clone it out or a little different crop. Hope you don't mind.

very few instances where i would like a starburst like this, and this is one of them. I really, really like the effect here. Great job!
