We spent the holiday week with my daughters family in Naperville, Illinois just south of Chicago. We only went into town for a few hours and most of that at the zoo or in the car. These photos are from the little time we got to spend on the ground. The first is taken at the Navy Pier - Childrens Museum.

This shot is also taken from the Navy Pier. A building shrouded in fog with a few Christmas trees. Neither shot is very dramatic. Our plane was delayed for hours on our return home and I tried to get my husband to stay in the city for the night so I could get more pictures but no go. Actually the fog was why our plane was delayed. The airport shut down on the night this picture was taken cancelling more than 500 flights. The next day (our departure date) was a zoo.

Great job on them both, yesterday. I really like the reflection of the street light in the second one.

Sorry to hear of your plight of delays. Not fun, are they?

Delays are certainly not fun. Luckily we got a flight 7 hours later as the only 2 standbys. Some people had to wait 3 days to get a confirmed flight to their destination.

A couple of interesting shots.

In the first, I would like to see it a bit lighter. The composition is great.

In the second shot, I would use PS or PSP to reduce the brightness of the closest streetlight. The rest of the shot is great but the bright light detracts from the foggy image of the building.
