There was a light frost this morning, lightening the tones of everything, and I crossed the road to try and capture some scenery. Another early morning prowler lurked in the grass.

There was no question of following Cal's instructions and using a tripod, even for less mobile subjects. It was just freezingin a bitterly cold breeze, and my fingers were numb in spite of fingerless mittens. So the register of the images isn't quite correct, but all the major features are present in & out of focus.

1/250s, f/3.6, ISO100, 35.7mm/234mm equiv., autofocused on tree

Same settings, 1/250s, f/3.6, ISO100, 35.7mm/234mm equiv., autofocused on cat.
