I took advantage of a simply beautiful day to shoot at the botanical gardens. It's still a little early for most of the flowers, but the Japanese camellias have begun to show.

There were lots of opportunities for this challenge....all in all, a great day to be out with a camera.

Paul

Edit: Adding shot data Pentax k20d, Pentax DA 50mm f/1.4 lens.....1/500 @ f/2.8, ISO 200...no post-processing except resizing for forum.

Paul,

Good example of the challenge. Interesting striped camelias.

Hi Paul

I love these photos... camelias are great flowers to photograph. Lovely stripped variety you have there. and the selective focus is very appropriate

In my garden I have a camelia bush... but it's not in flower in our summer / drought at the moment.

Cheers

Paul

Nice shots, Paul. I've never seen striped camelias. They're very pretty.

I tried some shots of my orchids yesterday, but the flowers are too close together. Will need to try again.
