I live in an area that is blessed/cursed with a lot of vegetation (brush). It both hides me and gets in the way of what I'm photographing. The telephoto lens can shoot through some of it. 400mm f5.6

Pond with the focus on the reflection which is distorted because of the ripples on the surface.

Near focus

This is outside of the challenge, a composite of the two.

Hi Philby

Thanks for sharing your photos. Very interesting type of vegetation - looks like close together near the water.

Well done in showing difference between far and near focus (and both!)

Cheers

Paul

Philby,

Your third photos explains everything. Lovely job on the selective focus.

Good job. In the first photo, that cluster of seed pods or leaves (or whatever it is) barely shows on my screen. I like the composite.
