A side note to all - is it just me that has such a difficult time logging in? Most of the time I give up after the 4th try. This time it took 10 tries. ???

Are you sure you're using the correct address to the forums?

Don't try to use the old address at http://www.stevesforums.com or it will cause login and cookie issues. Use http://forums.steves.digicams.com instead (the forums were changed to a new address a couple of years ago, but the old address still works to some extent).

See this post from 2007 about it:

A reminder - set bookmarks to forums.steves-digicams.com

If you're using the correct url to get to the forums (http://forums.steves-digicams.com), try this:

Click on "Logout", click on "Login", then use the "Reset the Cookie used by this board" link you'll find on the login screen. Then, login again and see if that solves your problems. The forums were moved to newer servers earlier this month, and you may have a cookies issue.

Send me a PM if that doesn't solve your issues.

Hi everyone, yes I go to the correct web page, and renew my cookies. Oh well, at least I log on from Work!

If you are logging in with the same user name from two different computers, that could be the source (or at least part ) of your problem, especially if you have checked the box to remain logged in in your account settings on one or the other.
