Yes, very close indeed!

It's the clever thumbwheel on the back of my Kodak Z1012, shot with my nearly identical Z712. With it I can adjust all the settings I normally use, without removing the camera from my eye. Peering in the electronic viewfinder, I rotate it to get to the setting I want to adjust, press it to highlight it, and rotate it to adjust to the right value. Works for aperture (usually I'm in aperture priority), EV offset, flash intensity, ISO. I twiddle the EV up & down, half-pressing for the live preview until it looks right, with the aid of a live histogram if necessary. To a large degree it's "say goodbye to guesswork".

The great majority of my 2800 posts here were done with the aid of this little twiddler.

Nice job, Alan. My Nikon D100 has two of those, one on the front and one where yours is located, both multi-function.

Nice idea. It really amazes me how many wheels (not tires) are out there that are used every day but totally over looked!!

There's one that definitely isn't a macro and is like no other wheel published here so far at...

http://forums.steves-digicams.com/biweekly-shoot-out/156067-wheel-not-tyres-off-road-transport.html

I'm getting a bit frustrated about my orphan, published 5 days ago. What's wrong with it?

Apologies if this breaches protocol, but it's happened to me before, probably due to global time zone problems.
