Default Writing instruments - Greetings from our garden

...or a two-letter, three-character text from our ultra-local version of Wimbledon, perhaps, using a novel writing instrument.

This technology is of course, readily erasable, and, being highly renewable, much more benign than the weedkiller employed by vandals for the purpose. It lies intermediate in developmental history between the planks of wood plus bits of string on the one hand, and rayguns borne on interstellar spacecraft on the other, both said to be used for crop circle creation.

Sadly, my artistic precision wasn't quite up to the job, so you have to image the little piles of grass as dotting the "i" and the exclamation mark.

Not having an interstellar spacecraft of prodigious power, I had some difficulty in adjusting the direction and intensity of my light source. While my wife merely thought me crazy, I fear she'd have been annoyed if I'd removed the giant tree and our hedge to improve it. As I type this an hour later, my creation is half in shadow.

Very creative! HI back at you! If i was mowing right now I would return the greeting in a similar manner, but my spouse is mowing and he would think i am beyond nuts if i asked him to reply.

Alan,
I was wondering when someone would come up with something like this... Very well done.
Aloha

Alan, I thought you chaps just trotted out a few sheep when the grass got to high. But, then, of course their spelling is atrocious, right?

Only by accident, Walter.

These two shots from the same bedroom window show a mass jailbreak last month. The farmer and his wife from the bottom of the village race to head 'em off at the pass, while their sons cut off the line of retreat.

I heard the sheep again a couple of days ago, around the corner, but they didn't make it this far. Note that the field is ripe for alien visitation again, as seen just a year ago, at http://forums.steves-digicams.com/biweekly-shoot-out/141839-linear-photography-yet-more-power-lines.html

Meanwhile, the farmer's daughter was back at the barn with.... Ahhh, but that's another story, eh?
