rmuir,
I had a great laugh when I looked at your rendition. Touche! very good interpretation. I couldn't have done any better.

Is it an optical illusion or is that bowl of peas leaning a lot to the left? Nice idea. They are both sitting on a flat piece of glass so can anyone tell me how this could be fixed and what causes that look?

Here's my theory. Step one - Lay off the box-o-wine while taking pictures. Everything was a little off, mostly my 'correction'. I just rotated the whole picture to make the can vertical and tried to distort the left side up, to keep the peas from spilling out without bending the table 'horizon' too much.

In the light of day, I see the sides of the can are not parallel because you get the same distortion tilting the camera down as you get tilted up at a building. In this re-shoot, I started out with the camera horizontally level. Then the only 'tilt' involved is looking down enough to see the peas in the bowl. It seems that should be fixed with the same perspective adjustment as is used for buildings, just dragging the top corners in rather than out. I think that made it better, yet the bowl still looks tilted...

I think it is an optical illusion caused by the lighting and perspective distortion from a wide angle lens shooting at a downward angle.

Personally, I think peas or most any vegetable are ruined when placed in a can. The flavor is totally destroyed. Give me fresh or frozen any day.
